Hello. I am looking for a pair of open back headphones under $500. I would use them primarily for listening to electronic music (most sub-genres, i.e. future bass, electro) and would also use them for gaming. I already have Solid State amp. Thank you.

Im guessing you want +bass?

$500.00 is kinda no mans land price wise, not much between 250.00 and 500.00 TBH.You can look into Philips Fidelio X2 which has a lot of bass+wide staging and can easily be driven by the Magni 3.It will also bring you in way under budget.

If you can stretch the budget and grab yourself a pair of Audeze LCD-2c which are amazing for EDM,but would really benefit from a more powerful amp,but for now Magni 3 would work.

I am looking for more bass than neutral (for sure). I cannot find the LCD-2 classics anywhere online, and the Philips Fidelio X2 is 'currently unavailable' from amazon. Anything else you could recommend? Thanks!

You can buy from Audeze(i think)

Or here

for Fidelio X2,they have a newer model, which I believe sounds identical to X2

I think the HE-560 is a bit brighter and not as much bass as the HE-400 (original) or HE-500 (discontinued).Older HiFiman headphones really like power, and lots of it.

HE-560s are great........aside from the fact that they fall apart after 2 weeks. Be wary of them and the HE-400i.

Yeah QC is a big problem too...Had a brand new pair of HE-6 driver fail on me two times in less than a year...had to sell them before the warranty expired...not happy.

How are the Shure SRH1840s for my purposes? Thanks.

Dunno, never heard them.I only recommend headphones I have owned or heard extensively.
