So yesterday i tested out the JBL J55 and REALLY liked them, i felt that the build quality was better than my sony xb500s. Upon going online, i found that the j88(over ear) are 10-20$ more depending on if i want these 2day(prime on amazon) or regular 5 day(ebay). i then began to compare yesterday to my normal listening of the sonys and remembered that they have the
mdr-xb800, which are also over ear and APPEAR to be a better build quality. im not really sold on these entirely though.
 
what do you guys recommend? im looking for bassy with good build quality(the  pleathery stuff on my xb500's is finally falling apart), single side cord would be preffered, price > $100

Nope, the XB800's feel cheap. 100% cheap chunky plastic.
 
If you really liked the J55/J88, I think you should just go with them. They've really fallen in price from when they were released. $80 for the J88 on Amazon? Not bad at all.
