I discovered that the case around one of the monitors in my RE0's broke today, so I'm looking to get some new IEMs. My budget is around $100, but I could stretch it if something is worth it. The genres I listen to are mostly rock and alternative, with some jazz, hip-hop, and electronic. In terms of sound signature, I want something fairly balanced. I've enjoyed my RE0's, and I have Sennheiser HD555's at home, which I really like.
 
One note is that I don't plan on using these with any kind of headphone amp, unless you can convince me otherwise.

Well, MSRP is around $50 and can be had regularly for, maybe $30. On top of that, I've found that there is harsh, near-unlistenable treble in the S4 IEM.
 
I would recommend the Vsonic GR06 or GR04, both available on eBay and shipped from HK.
