Is there any good and comfortable (preferably big ear pads) headphones with isolation at least like in DT 770/Custom Studio (I have Custom Studio now and the isolation is much better than in CAL that I used before) but more portable, foldable?

50-200$

are IEMs a no go? because if you want portable and high isolation, they logically come to mind. not all IEMs have good isolation, but many sealed ones will effectively isolate better than most closed headphones.

As a Sony fanboi I’d have my card taken away if I didn’t recommend the Sony MDR-1AM2 to someone asking about a good portable closed back. A lightly used one would fall under your budget and a new one on Amazon probably wouldn’t exceed your budget too much either. The 1AM2 was the first Sony headphone I ever bought and I just got it this last November. But since November I’ve purchased 3 additional TOTL Sony headphones/IEMs. MDR-Z7, MDR-z7m2, IER-M9. And the 1AM2 started it all. Even with everything I own, I still use the 1AM2 for five days a week for at least 3-5 hours each day. And if it weren’t for the MDR-Z7, the 1AM2 would be the most fun headphone I own. But the Z7 is not meant to be a portable, so I whole heartedly recommend the 1AM2.

IEMs always fall off or hurt ears :frowning2:

Reviews say that it has poor isolation.

hm, looks similar to DT770/Custom Studio while being foldable and cheap but I have read that it may not seal properly resulting in poor isolation.
That’s weird I use them for 3-5 hours 5 days a week in a noisy warehouse environment with zero issue.

Not sure were that "may not seal properly" comes from, but to get a good seal a headphones would have to clamp down around the ears with pressure that i would assume most would be uncomfortable with.
The seal of the HP151 is fine for me.

Yeah, I mean that some people say that it is not strong enough compared to other headphones.

good isolation basically means in-ears ...

As I have written already a few times on this forum I see pretty much no use of closed over ear headphones except for studio/recording usage or if you want "a little more isolation" at home to disturb your spouse/flatmate etc. a bit less when being in the same room or to hear noise around you a bit less.

Closed over ear headphones are generally pretty bad at isolation compared to in-ears and also have significant deficits considering sound quality, staging etc. compared to open over ear headphones, so there is really no point in using them over open headphones - apart from the usage mentioned above.

Since you mention "portable" as well, in-ears are the way to go. There are literally hundreds of tips for in-ear headphones out there ... you just have to find some that fit your ear and feel comfortable to you.
I also always found in-ears uncomfortable and hesitated to use them but jumped over my shadow and gave them a try. Never looked back ever since and I can recommend you to give them a chance as well.

Cheers and all the best :)
