Looking for Headphones just as good or better than Beats Studios....

I have the HD555 and I can confirm that what you say is true, but I recommended the HD558 anyway because the HD555 is known for its cracking issue. Every 555 cracks a bit on the band after about a year, and I'd rather not have a headphone I recommend crack.

I know it's a minor issue and doesn't affect sound, but yeah. *shrugs*

Yewah, but no matter how careful you are it will still eventually crack, so I suggested the 558.

You do have a point, and I think the 558's are kind of designed the same way, I believe that the 558 and the 598s also share the same driver and use a similar intake block nerfing so the mod might work on those too

As said, Amazon has free returns if you don't like what you buy.

It's very difficult to find audio stores that actually stocks every kind of headphone mentioned here...

They're great, but again, remember you have no isolation. As long as you don't mind that, everything will be great. :)

i have one more thing to ask. im going to be using it on my itouch or latop. my itouch uses cheap downloaded mp3 files from the web. and my laptop is just an average laptop. will any of those factors affect the sound in any way?

Using good headphones will not make poor quality audio files sound worse. At the very least they will not sound worse than what they already sound with your existing equipment. Sennheisers under the 6xx series don't really have to be amped.

If your budget of buying an amp is $30, you're better off not getting anything. Stuff like the E3 are pretty much useless.
