Hi guys!

I'm looking for new headphones. One for work and the other for home, so I actually get to buy two. I've been thinking about Superluxes. Mainly HD-681 EVO, HD-668b and HD-330. Out of the three I need to choose two.

From what I have gathered it seems that the HD-668B is winner. However I'm little bit concerned are they comfortable to use for long periods. I know that I should at least buy velour pads, but that headband does not look nice at all.

I am going to use the headphones for listening music and watching movies from a laptop. Occasionally I might plug the headphones to my mobile phone too, but that is only when I'm at home or at work. So the use is indoors only.

So which ones would you recommend? Some say the HD-330 are great, even better than 668B, while others say they are not.

How do HD-681 EVO and HD-668B compare?

And the other question:

I know that the EVOs will work fine without a dac and amp. Do I need a dac+amp for HD-668B?

I have narrowed down my choises to FIIO e07k and e10k. I haven't found any comparisons which one is better. Which one would you recommend? Or do I even need it? Are there any others with similar price (60-70€)

And lastly about the velour pads:

It seems that superlux makes velour pads too: http://www.thomann.de/gb/superlux_hd_681_velour_ear_pad.htm
Are they worth it or should I go with something else?

I am not going to buy the AKG velour pads, because the price is simply too high.

TL; DR;
Which one from superlux:
1. HD-681 EVO
2. HD-668B
3. HD-330

Which dac+amp
1. FIIO e07k
2. FIIO e10k

Budget for headphones ~50€
Budget for dac+amp sub 100€

Thanks in advance!

No problems.

iI'll use them indoors only, in front of my laptop.

I have budgeted 50€ for the headphones and approx 70€ for the amp+dac. I'm hoping to buy AKG K-701's in near future, so I'd like to use the possible amp with that too.

the E10k will serve you well. The E07k is more of a portable DAC/amp and also cannot match the performance of the E10k.

As for headphones, maybe you can try an AKG K452 or an ATH-M40x. I cannot think of anything else, sorry :p. I left the budget range long ago

I'm guess the Velour ear pads sold at Thomann for the HD-681 are about the same as the ones sold on eBay.
Both are generic Velour ear pads mass produced somewhere in China.

I own the Superlux HD-660 and they are a little tight on the head and the coiled cable is too stiff, so I really do not like to use them.
Had some well used Beyerdynamic Velour Velour ear pads laying around, work great on the HD-660, helped with the comfort issue, but still do not like to use them.
But for the price they do offer fairly good audio quality.
I'm assuming the HD-330 are about the same.

I would say to get the HD-681EVO, they are a newer headphone revision, then the HD-668Bs.
