Looking for good headphones in my price range

Ended up getting some used HE-400s for $200 shipped on eBay. Came with velour and pleather earpads and everything is in excellent condition. I'm amazed at how much better these headphones sound! Thank you all so much for your help with my questions. I look forward to learning more about headphones and becoming a part of head-fi.

If you find you are running them at or near maximum perceived volume on your computer, a headphone amp could take them up a notch :)

Definitely! I am running them pretty loud on my sound card right now so I'll invest in the Schiit Magni and Modi sometime in the near future. I hear those are quite good and will make my experience quite more enjoyable. What would you recommend I do to learn more about headphones so I can participate in discussions on here and actually know what I'm talking about?

Then start with the Magni. You don't have to have the Modi to get the benefits of the more powerful amp.

Lots of stuff to learn. I guess read forum posts and join in with questions. :)
