Hey head-fi. I am currently in possession of a pair of HE-400's that I like, but have some issues with. For example, when listening to classical music (CDs), there are underlying details that I can detect, yet not focus on due to bass and treble emphasis. Perhaps just overall lack of detail on the part of the headphones. I am looking for a neutral pair that is less than 400$, open back with great detail retrieval with a large soundstage. However, I would hope it could also perform well with house, rock , pop etc. I was looking at the DT-880 (maybe a used T90 as well), but all other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I enjoy HE400 for jazz, but I prefer dynamic models more for classical. I'm impressed with the clarity and soundstage of K70x, though Q701 is more versatile if you don't mind a little more bass. HD600 is slightly more neutral, but it sounds more enclosed.
