I am looking for a balanced cable to connect to my AKG k371's but the only ones ive been able to find are the silver dragons. any cheaper options?

I don't think that will even work. All the pictures I see have only three conductors on the plug that goes into the left earcup, not four unlike headphones with dual side entry cables.

I have no experience with the AKG K371, but the pictures I could find show the mini-XLR is 3-pin. This means that the headphone is not compatible with balanced amplifiers/cables unless it's modded into a 4-pin. Trying to use such a headphone with a balanced amp will lead to a short within the amplifier.
