Wow, I can't imagine not being happy with the Bass on the VB's, you did try one of the other bass disc options didn't you? I use the middle bass option with 2 dots. To me these have the best bass of any IEM I have ever heard.

Someone else suggested the Atrio in this thread but if you don't like the VB don't bother with the Atrio's I owned the Atrio's before the VB's and the VB's crush them in every single way including bass.

I love my W3 and think the bass is awesome..but I don't think they would be the kind of bass the op is looking for..imho they are far from huge bass. I just ordered the hippo vb in hopes it would fill the gap in the bass heavy music I listen to that the w3 doesn't cut it with. Hopefully I didn't screw the pooch even though they were only $79.

Hi guys,
I have just tried out ATH-CKS70 and love it, just the amount of Bass i need.
I have just ordered it.

@ysksky : i have tried a well burnt it hippo vs a well burnt in ath-cks70. I'm still disappointed in hippo. i would rather buy 3set of ep-630(for hippos $$) as backups than buy hippo.

@swanlee : I tried changing the bass plate and went with 2 dots, I not saying i hippo vb are bad just that i hoped for more because of all the review saying that the bass is awesome. Hippo VB's bass is good but not enough for me.

Last point, ATH-CKS70 does not have the clarity of the Hippos VB. (the difference could be heard clearly)
I'm not a audiophile(first post), so it doesn't affect me greatly.

I agree here, the VB's take a loooong time to burn in.. I have around 245 hours burn in on mine and I still think they're not finished as the sound has changed throughout the whole listening time...
