Hi all, i am currently leaning towards the fiio e5 as they seem very good, although i may also consider a cmoy if i can get one cheap. Any advice on this? thanks

I don't know any other choices in your price range. I'm not sure the DT770 really needs the bass boost, but it's the cheaper option.

E3, E5, or Soul micro Standard, all of them under $30

Are your 770's 80ohm ?The only portable Amp that I have actualy tried on my DT990's (250ohm) that had enough power was a Boosteroo, and the SQ is not as good as the Fiios. One option just above your budget is the Travgans Colors (59.00)

You are speaking of the 80's, right? I did use an e3 (with a Cardas mini) on the pro and it did give me modest volume, but that is not good enough for most. I use something much lovelier than a cmoy for the pro's and I can't blare the music. A couple "depends" here.
