Hey Head-Fi people, I'm looking for a reasonably priced decent amp for home use to bring out the life of the M50x.

I'm looking at this on Amazon. Behringer

One question.

What difference will I notice with a headphone amp or does it change with different headphones?

There is a grey area with the m50 and the benefit of an amp. The m50 is meant for portable use so it doesn't require much power to drive, but does benefit slightly from a steady power.  You can check out Fiio brand amps as starters. I would stay away from the behringer because you will hear a buzzing noise when there is no sound playing through your headphones.

Yes, a cheap fiio is enough for start. I would look into a cheap hybrid tube amp preferably with the 6sn7 tube (used bada ph12 for example), the m50 still has a little brightness up top and the midrange needs to be more forward - nothing major but ideally you'd want that.
