So I'm looking to have higher quality audio files, so I've tried using WAV because the iPod touch uses it and I believe Zune's uses it too (prepping for a Zune HD).

Is WAV the right file type to go with? I know they are particularly large, but I'm planning to turn one of the devices into a dedicated music player and the other more of a casual device (basically the iPod touch will act a different role while the Zune will be my music player)

Side note: Anyone know where I can pick up cheap CD's in California?

Most lossless formats are truly sounding the same,

WAV is the most universal format.
So considering you have (or will have) both an iPod and a Zune that is the format to go for. The iPod support Apple Lossless, but not so for the Zune. The other way around for WMA Lossless.

Sound quality wise there should be no difference. Just file size and feature (tags, artwork) wise.
