Hi!

After long time, new post from me. Looking at the Headroom pages, I was unable to display harmonic distortion measurements for the AKG 701, nor the 601. Waiting long time, hoping it will be added, no such luck. Since nobody mentioned this, I really wanted to see that result.

Did someone else has some measurements, for example using RMAA?

Isn't distortion supposed to be primarily be caused by the amplifying component (and hence where you should really be looking at)?

Hi Zorander!

Yes, you're right. That is the source of many kinds of distortions. But to my knowledge, Headroom has measured the phones on laboratory equipment to see how much extra harmonics the phones will "produce" when feeded by single tone.
It's just strange this info is missing on both highly acclaimed AKG pohones, don't you think?
