Currently using altech lansing mx5021 and looking to upgrade :) Ive got a Centrance Dacmini to hook up the speakers to. And since i love bass, im going to go with an external sub woofer to go with it. Which would be the better of the 2 between the dunaudio mc15 and quad 11L active

I dont have a home audio system, so this will be my first "audiophile" system (outside of my lcd2) :D

Also for the budget $1500 (exclude sub), is there any other choices suitable?

Wow that's a huge step up coming from MX5021 to possibly $1.5k++ audio equipment

My feeling is that for desktop duty/audio set up one should also consider efficient/cool running T-amps and decent passive bookshelf speakers?

Any passive amps and speaker suggestion? However, amp and speaker will take too much of my desk space..

Well if you actually need lots of beef for a HT set up there is no choice (big, beefy AVR) but for desktop audio set up perhaps

Since your photo is showing B&W P5.

Just drop yourself to Bowers & Wilkins website to have a look on their series.

Good Luck~
