I agree with what's written on the PX 100-II product page that these headphones tend to sound like the mids and treble are a little veiled. The bass is indeed the frequency that stands out the most and I was hoping to upgrade to a portable pair that comes across as more balanced and neutral.
 
I need something that I can use without an amp be used while walking outdoors. For price range, I suppose as long as it doesn't go over double what the PX100-II sells for, that's okay.

Beyerdynamic DTX 501p. Haven't heard them but are considered to be quite good, with great sound quality for the price but "funny", asymmetrical (?) fit.
