I'll be honest, I don't know much about headphones. I've been using a cheap set of skull-candies for a while, and while I don't remember which kind it was, it was one of the "higher-end" cheapies. A polished turd, if you will. Anyways, I'm looking to get an actual good pair of IEMs. I'm not spending more than $150 on them unless there is an incredible difference between something over that price and something I can get for less than that.

I'm looking for something with good bass, but not ridiculously overpowering to the point that it takes quality away from the rest of the sound. Mids and highs aren't as important to me, but obviously I don't want them to be terrible.

I listen to predominantly hard rock and metal, things like Skillet, RED, 3DG, Breaking Benjamin, etc, and that's why the bass is important to me.

Also, I'd like the headphones to be decently durable. To be honest, I don't take care of my headphones very well. If I had a higher quality pair I probably would, but they need to have some kind of case, which I know is standard on most good sets of IEMs. Aesthetics are nice but I'd rather have an awful looking pair that sound amazing than a great looking pair that don't sound good.

What can you recommend for me?

TL;DR I listen to hard rock/metal and want a durable pair of headphones with good bass under $150 dollars.
