A mic pre seems a pretty close cousin to a head amp. Higher gain/lower noise, but otherwise pretty darn similar.

There's a universe of mic pre discussion over at taperssecion.com, but almost none is DIY relevant.

I record quite a bit and would like to have a portable stereo mic preamp to go in front of my new little digital recorder.

Has anyone here done or know of a solid mic pre circuit design they'd be willing to share? I'd be gratefully stoked
