Hey guys, just registered because I heard this was the place to go for headphones. Now, I'm not crazy into audio, but I'd just like to get a good set of headphones. I've had a pair for a couple years now and I just use them on my PC (music and everything else) and occasionally my PSP. I'm hoping I can spend less than $50-60$ on a decent set, so if anyone has suggestions, please send them my way.

And for reference, to see how much better a new set might be, I am currently using the Sony MDR-G42 behind-the-head style headphones. Yeah, don't laugh!

Thanks.

Try the Sennheiser PX100. Very good for the price.

If I was going for closed headphones, would the Sennheiser HD201 phones be good? I noticed they are $25 on Amazon, vs the $40 PX100 phones. How do the two stack up against each other?

Never heared the HD201, but I've read often that they sound very strange without an additional external amp.

I don't like both of them.. The PX100 is better, with more body. The HD201 is thin in comparison. But I didn't like the PX100 as well. To me, it was muffled and chaotic. As for use with your PSP; don't get the HD201 since the cable is really long.

Though I haven't heard them, I'd look into the iGrado. Maybe if you can stretch your budget a little you can get some (used) Grado SR-60s?
