Hi this is my first post

I am looking for a headset (with mic) in the price-range of £30-£40. I am going to use it primarily for gaming on my pc, but listen to music and watch movies as well, I have a Xfi xtreme music sound card as well.

I know the price is quite limiting for most really good headsets but what can I afford that is good for that sort of price?

You'll probably be able to get better headphones if you get a desktop or clip-on mic. Off the top of my head, I'd say the Sennheiser 280's and like a Zalman clip-on mic or a Logitech desktop mic.

Basically, Overlord is right. You might also want to look into Sony MDR-V6, which is a direct competitor of HD280.

I originally thought I couldnt get the HD280s

they are a bit out of my price range (£70-£80) but luckily I got a new pair of them of Ebay for £30

Yeah, they usually go for $80 over here, so it doesn't surprise me.

I still don't understand why large companies/corporations always do $ = £, I know money, but it just screws people over. Does that price include VAT?

Yeah it includes VAT in it. Its a bargain for £30

Probably the HD280's. Try to find some freq. response graphs for them and compare.

IMO the V600 is a horrible headphone, especially at the asking price. I owned one for years and my cheap Sony streetstyles were better and got more use.

On the other hand the V6 is pretty well respected around here.
