I have used Fiio DAPs for several years and have been reasonably happy. I currently have an X5ii. Recently I have been wanting to use shuffle play and the Fiio implementation is pretty much useless.
The Sony 45 series looks interesting, but with only 7mW into my Beyer's 80 ohm impedance (and medium efficiency), I don't think it will cut it, I listen on the plane and need a fair amount of output.
There seems to be three categories of DAPs:
1. Great UI but low powered, reasonable cost
2. High powered but poor UI, reasonable cost
3. Great UI and high powered, high cost
Is there anything with good output power, an excellent UI (with real shuffle play that is easy to use) but which doesn't cost over around $600? This may be a non-existent product.
Thanks
