I am looking for a new pair of over ear closed headphones. I already have beats solos but I want to upgrade. I listen to mostly rap, dub step, electronic, and alternative. I did some research and I'm leaning toward the audio techna m50s. Please help me find the right pair.

You should also consider Shure Srh 840 (good bass and detailed sound signature) and AudioTechnica ATH WS99 (probably best bass at its price point.)

If you will use your new headphones with a separate Amp then Beyerdynamic DT770 is also a great pick (80 Ohm versions have more bass while 250 Ohm versions are more neutral but still good bass.

What will be driving these cans?  Will you be using an amp?

To answer the questions I will not be useing any amps I just want good headphones for music on my phone
