Looking for a good balanced headphone amplifier

It ain't under 500.00 but I'm pretty sure that you can custom-order the Headroom Desktop Balanced w/o a DAC, and then run your DACMagic into it for a fully-balanced setup. I've used an 840c/HRDB combo and it is very, very good-sounding, and will drive balanced and SE phones.

For the EAR90, it's only below 500 without the balanced input (balanced input costs more). Is balanced output useful without balanced input?
