So, as I have a vintage Marantz 1070feeding a pair of BeyerDynamics DT Pro 700 X, I'm looking for a desktop amp or dac/amp combo that can at least begin to compete with this amp

The budget would be a around $500 CAD as this would be a 65th birthday prsenent to me in the fall

Thoughts on a dac/amp combo or seperates would be appreciated

Sources are Denon DCD600NE CD player and Mac mini m1 desktop and MacBook Pro into laptop

I have an older SMSL Sanskrit 10 dac, It's okay and I also have a Focusrite Claret 4 Pre which I use for recording and it's pretty close to the Denon Heard good things about ESS chips
