Looking for a DAP that beats the LG V30+

What do you guys think about V30 vs V40?
V40 comes with different DAC tuned by Meridian Audio.
Do you guys think V40 will sound better than V30?

and how about V20?

V20 vs V30 vs V40?
I think the general consensus is that the 40 has a more airy, spacious, and less aggressive sonic character compared to the 30. I find it more musical myself. Meridian did a great job. Perhaps you should read through the dedicated V40 thread, located in the portable source gear sub section.
I use an Opus #1s as my dap. I can't really say I like one device better than the other. I do prefer the Opus via the balanced connection though. I don't think you will find a dap that is truly better than the 40 for less than 4-5 hundred. Maybe have a look at the Cowon Plenue D2. It's getting some rave reviews regarding the sound signature.

Awesome. Yeah, maybe I'll upgrade to V40 one day. V50 is out there too btw.
Checking Cowon PD2.

V50 comes with the same Meridian DAC.

- 3.5mm headphone jack
- 32-bit/192kHz audio
- 24-bit/48kHz audio recording
- Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic
- DTS: X Surround Sound, tuned with Meridian Audio

I like the idea of V50's dual screen... and am curious if V50 has any audio improvement over V40.

I have not heard a V30 or any others but it seems that it would be hard to beat by a $200 dap. I’ve tried a couple of times to buy a v30 but it just got too rich for me to try it out.

I confirm LG V30+ sounds better than Sony ZX1, Onkyo DP-S1.
I wonder what else would you need as DAP?

I'm sticking with LG V series... If I ever need to buy another DAP, that will be LG V50 or V60. and I don't like carrying two devices (smartphone and DAP).

The A&K SR15 can't beat the v30. They sound pretty the same in every aspects. I have upgraded to an A&K SE100 and this level can goes really beyond the quality of the v30.

Hmm, im stuck between the G7 and an Se100 (significantly cheaper than the RRP)

What's the difference that you can secribe?

I am not familiar with the G7, but the SE100 has more details, bigger soundstage, more transparency than the v30. The tonality is very similar although, since both drive a top tier Sabre dac.
I've never tried the balanced output, they say it is even better.

SE100 is too expensive. I bought my V30+ for only $100. It was blacklisted in US but It works fine without any problem in Canada or anywhere else.
For $100, this is a no brainer deal. You get a nice smartphone plus DAP.

A blacklisted (bad esn) V30+ is now selling for $100 in US... this will still work fine in other countries. You just need to install unlocked version firmware / OS and a new SIM card.

At this price point, there will be no other "DAP" that can beat V30+... and I think they'll be waste of money.

I got a Renewed from Amazon for $154 unlocked T-Mobile. Was brand new!
