Yeah, that sounded contradicory eh?
Why would I want it produced in the EU? So that, in case it breaks, I can easily and relatively cost efficiently send it back. Warranty doesn't mean much when you need to spend €€ to get it to the manufacturer in the first place.
So other than that, I'm looking for a stand-alone DAC. Stereo RCA out, no amp included.
USB/Coax minimum. I'd like it to be neutral/transparant. This way I can upgrade 'phones no matter the 'colouring'.
Basically, something good and accurate, that lasts and by chance is easy on the eye.
Rustic, even .
I'd say 200-300 euro, could go higher if it's pleasing.
I choose not to invest into DAC's that cost more than 500-600. I'll probably never hear the difference.
Throw me what you got, Gentlepersons!
