Hi all,

My current setup:

Denon D2000
Headroom Micro DAC
Headroom Micro Amp

I really like my Denon but I find them a bit fatiguing and I would like to complement them with another headphone, something perhaps with a different sound signature. I listen to electronic, dance, rock, indie, some pop, and some hip-hop music. I'd like to get an open headphone. My budget is flexible but I don't think I would consider spending more than $500 at the most. I am in Canada but might be able to pick up at the border if needed.

The other option is maybe upgrading my amp instead. I've actually not been all that impressed with my HR micro amp, though this is my first desktop amp. Sometimes I'm more impressed with my Klipsch S4 and Sony NWZ-A17 than my desktop setup.

Thanks for the help.

An Audio Technica open headphone should offer a different sound, from the Denon AH-D2000.
ATH-AD1000X ?

Also check out the AKG KXX headphones, at Massdrop.
