Looking for a cheap USB TV tuner

check out hauppage, avermedia and pinnacle, hauppage makes good cheap tuners, avermedia is decent, pinnacle use to be bad, but recently they have been doing better,

theres also cheap decent tuners from leadtek and MSI,

any specific model to look out for?

Whoa, whoa! Backup - are you guys saying that [having a cable connection as I do] I can buy a tuner and watch TV on my iMac???!

for the mac i would look at the el gato hybrid installed 2 for a client works
pretty good .

just remember that a pci slot or a USB connector can power a tuner, but would have great difficulty driving a TV signal amplifier (usb only gives 550mha at 9v) so reception on TV cards and USB tuners might be worst then a normal TV that carries a built in signal amp, so if your TV signal at home is flaky, you might have to invest in a TV signal amp,
