Hello -
 
I am looking to connect my android phone to the Fiio E12 portable amp. I can spend something around 30$ for a new 3.5 to 3.5 cable but I am not sure how much difference does that make to buy a new cable or to use the already provided one.

Use the stock one. Interconnect (amp) cables are purely a pathway for audio signal to follow. Therefore, "upgrading" them doesn't result in real audio quality improvement. They can be an upgrade with regards to durability or form factor, but if you're wanting to improve the SQ, I wouldn't spend dough on the amp cable.
