As it stands right now i have my headphone amp and my speaker setup near my computer. I have all my music on my computer and i have to switch my cables from speaker amp and back depending on my listening mood.

I am looking for a DAC in the $100-200 range, something maybe that has 2 outputs. If that is impractical maybe other ideas on how to run both amps off single source?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you,

Chris

you could always do a separate DAC and source selector. I'm in the same boat you are except I have multiple sources as well as 2-3 outputs. I'm considering building a darwin source selector or something similar

is this a receiver you have in your speaker setup? If so, I'd run the DAC in as a source with your reciever.....and hook your headphone amp up to it's line out (or it might have aux out, or tape out). Don't know of many external DACs that have more then one output

Thanks for the input guys. The source selector idea sounds good, as i have my SACD player i could hook up as well.

Davesrose,

The amp i have unfortunatly doesnt have the Tape In or Line out, although that same model can be made with it i do not have it.

Cheapest solution is to get somthing like this...

Then speaker amp and headphone amp can run in parallel. You can get them on ebay. Maybe other places as well.

Wouldnt something like that decrease the input to both requiring more amplification?
