So, I recently had to return my HD 438's because the left ear stopped working (issue with the cable).  I know that you can replace the cables on them, but overall I just wasn't satisfied with the clamping and soundstage.  I'm taking a look at the ATH-PRO5MSA and I'm wondering if anyone here can tell me their experience on this set of cans.  I'm going to be using them with my ipod (3rd generation touch) around school, so my only concern is how well it will isolate and if my ipod will be able to drive them properly.  The cans have an impedance of 40ohms.
I usually listen to pop and a few alternative rock bands so I'm looking for a little bit of bass but with clarity.  My budget is around $145 and I am open to suggestions for other headphones as well.  Thanks
