I've had my sr125's for a few months now and i lub them to death, but since they are open, they let alot of background noise in, and even more out..my family looks at me funny because they think im listening to them at 158% volume...

..anywho, my next pair will be closed, and as for music, i mainly listen to mp3s on my puter, with a strange mix of rock, classic, and a lil rap for spice, i may be getting a portable amp in the near future also.

and as fer budget, i would like to keep it under $300 for the phones, any suggestions?

If you get closed phones you will most likely get worse sound than you have now with the SR125s. Get an amp, and you will get better sound. Think about it...
