The review is kind of a bummer.  I love my z2300s.  Too bad the successors don't live up to their legacy.
 
Guess its good the A5s have had my eye for a while now, otherwise this would have been more of a let down.

The A5's won't provide anywhere near as much bass as the Z2300 though, a good upgrade from the Z2300 is the edifier S730.

It won't be good upgrade, but the best upgrade.
Pricewise, Klipsch Promedia is best 2.1
Overall, s730 is the king of all 2.1......costly but best simply........atleast 10 times better than those duuuf duuuf mids-less z2300.

i have Z 623 bought it for cheap but instead of pairing with the desktop , i using it with my led tv with hdmi out from the led to a mediabridge 3.5mm to coaxial into z623. The z623 is definitely for the bass its 200w sub pump bone bone rattling bass , the mids are smooth and one can hear the detail treble if turned bass knob to low. Good set of speakers to wake the neighbours
