Hey guys,

I've had a Z-5500 for over 5 years now and I have loved the sound coming out of it. However, there is clearly a sound issue- because it randomly cuts from full 5.1 surround sound, to only playing sound out of one or two speakers.

When I go to my creative control panel to listen to the channels, I find out that my front/center/rear satellites are all mixed up! If I wait long enough, it will snap back to the true front/center/rear and I will have full 5.1 sound again. I have no reason to believe it's my X-Fi sound card, I did all of the correct +/- wiring to the subwoofer, and all of the 3.5mm front/center/rear cables are correctly placed. Is it the board inside the pod that is failing??

I looked online and there is a small replacement board that is sold by a 3rd party. I really don't want to go through that channel because I like having the Dolby PL II Movie/Music Effect available, since I also use the optical output to my PS3 and it makes games sound much better.

Any insight would be wonderful.

Thanks
