Logitech Mediaplay mouse review

I have one of these, bought it at Staples for $33 with an added 15$ mail in rebate I haven't sent out yet, if I do it'll be one swanky 18$ mouse.

It's great, I use it with winamp, and I can't use a regular mouse anymore because I miss my back button too much. The only issue I had with it was the size, it was HARD to get used to such a small mouse, the shape of it, but I did, now it's great.

Yea, I got this mouse with the exact same deal a month ago, works like a charm. Only difference is, that I got my mail-in rebate back yesterday.

Me too, I got it for cheap at Staples. I do not like the buttons on the mouse though, you need to exert a lot of pressure to perform a mouse-click.

Nice review once again, bangraman. I still kinda dig the PowerMate though it appears a bit more limited.

EDIT: Plus the Logitech looks only Windows compatible.

I think it is Windows-only. I'm getting Linux soon onto my comp, we'll find out by then.

Fear not, my brother uses Linux, and he has this mouse. He (along with the cheapass price) inspired me to get one.

I picked up another one today, this time hooked up to the laptop I have at my office. As I may have mentioned in my review, there's just one issue I come up against both at home and the office: Since I go through a DAC, I can't control the volume. It's a damned shame. I wonder if someone can hack Setpoint to alter the Wave volume instead?

The pressure required to click is not more than most mice, but since you don't know where the button pivot effectively begins if you press too high up on the mouse, it's too stiff. Pressing the buttons as far forward as possible allows them to be fairly light in action. I'd like clearly delinated pivot marks though.

I don't fear Linux, I fear that the media buttons won't work on Linux.
