hi guys, is there an LOD available for connecting Sony A828 players to a headphone amp yet?

I am wanting to invest in a headamp PICO, but holding off until there is a cable I can use to connect my Sony player to it with.

I have just ordered this LOD from eBay. It should turn up if you search for
'Suntac WS-12L'.

I have ordered two. I am planning to dismount the cable and just use the Line Out to power my portable amp. I also have the dock that has a line-out that I am using at home. The line out makes the sound better but the change is not so significant as one experiences with iPods. I am guessing that the headphone stage of the iPod is to blame. The Sony IMO has a much better hp out.

I will try to let you guys know once I receive the cable.

you don't need an lod to use an amp. you can just use the headphone out. lod does not mean the out is good. x5 is a great example of this. who knows, the output on the lod could be rubbish. there are docks for it already and i have seen a person make one on internet but as i do not use amps, i care very little for it.

That's true... You do not need a LOD to use an amp. And it will still be an improvent on the sound quality when you amp the hp out.
However with my A818 the line-out is a bit better than the hp-out but just not as significant as I have experienced with iPods.

do the appropriate cables to connect the headphones out to the headphone amplifier generally ship with the headphone amp, for example if I order a Pico fro their website?

I would like to know as well if something (LOD) has been developped or is in the process of being released.

ken from ALO has been saying he;s going to release one for ages. so my guess is there is some sort of problem with attaining a true line out. if I remember correctly the line out required you to also supply power at the same time ala home charging type dock. ken was having problems getting it to work. said it would be available by now a while agao but updated to say there were issues. so dont hold your breath.

That's not really true statement. I have a Sony dock for my 829, the line out works without plug in the external power for the dock.
