Has anyone used these in any Singlepower amps?

Are they worth the extra cost over normal steel pin ones?

i used one in a mpx3 slam se and it was very similar to a we396a...
no better, no worse. it is rare to find one with gold pins but not
worth the extra dough, imo.

How common is the Sylvania Gold brand 5670 with gold pins?

I have one with "Engineering sample" stamped on the glass

i haven't listened to a gold pin sylvania but there's about 2 dozen of those
for sale on evay now... albeit, without the "engineering sample" on them.

I've only used them in my Havana Dac and they are a lot better than the other tubes I've tried, including other Western Electric 396a's, 2C51's and Bendix 2C51's. I'd say they are over priced at $100, but any 2C51 would be IMHO. If you can get one under $50 jump on it.

The United tubes are Soviet as they have the saucer style getter

got mine recently and I totally agree that they blow away any other of the tubes Ive had including the we396a, Bendix 2c51, Raytheon JRP-5670 and the stock GE tubes of my Havana DAC

It's (gp) been reported to be the best from many a tube roller. Love to find one for $50. A couple of SP Extreme rollers have said it was better with the WE better in the MPX.
