I want to buy this amp but when looking at the front I see a strange looking headphone out socket. Is this a regular socket or do I need an adapter for my 1/4" plug?

I'm pretty sure it's the regular 1/4. It is. It's about the only socket used by DIYers, not exactly pretty IMO

If it's the SE, it's just a locking neutrik 1/4 input like this one:
