Save up for a better amp than the LDM+. Not that it's a bad pairing (pretty good in fact, I find it better than the SuperMini-3 and AE-1 for most kinds of music), but you could do better for not too much more. As for other amps, I have no suggestions, sorry (limited experience with other amps).
The LDM+ pretty much has a "wire with gain" sound to it except in the bass so you'd probably be best served by an amp with a similar approach. The Portaphile amps might be a good option.
