I have recently bought a year old LD III on Ebay.

I am getting what sounds like Transformer Hum on switch on. The hum is NOT through the headphones just in the room. I get the noise even if nothing is connected to the Little Dot. It is annoying whilst I am warming up the Little Dot and I can hear it between tracks whilst listening.

I wondered if other owners could comment on how quiet the Little Dot III is.

I have tried tightening the screws on the Transformer Case but this has not helped. Any other tips?

Wireless interference perhaps? Do you have any wireless routers nearby?

I do have a wireless router - but I just switched it off and it made no difference.

...this really does sound like transformer hum to me! Are the transformers on the LD III normally silent ?

Never heard this before from people. Mine is dead-quiet. Its not weird for a transformer to hum, but that goes for larger ones. There is nothing unusual when listening to music?
Try swapping things that may seem odd, like the power cord or the fuse. It solved problems on my cd player when both were ok.
