Like I said, the audible effects are far from night and day, and; more importantly, are circumstantial - as are many things with regard to maximising performance of a headphone rig. Synergy, if you will.

I'd still say that the simplicity of the mod means that it remains a worthwhile try-out for those with lower impedance headphones. And especially those who prefer a higher output and/or more 'complex' music.

PS: The mod isn't concerned with altering output level - beyond, perhaps, the need for a very minor (upward) adjustment of the volume pot. I personally didn't need it, but then I adjust output at the signal level.
