I am going to be using this amp with my Grado RS-1, Grado SR-125, & Grado MS-1i headphones + my NuForce uDAC

On the little dot website it says:

Price: 104 USD

Shipping:
North America (USA, Canada): 34 USD

Tube Upgrades:
Upgrade to EF92: 20 USD
Upgrade to WE408A: 50 USD


So
stock tubes it will come to around $140
with the EF92 tubes it will come to around $160
and with the WE408A it will come to around $190

has anyone done any of these upgrades? would you say they are worth it? how will these upgrades effect the sound/improve the sound?

Hi Caleb

The I+ is a tube roller's dream in reference to tubes (3 families and all different characteristics).

What I did and many others back then was buy the stock tube version then upgrade tubes on your own. All three families have great tubes however, my favorites are EF91/92 family.

Agree with Heatfan... The basic model is the best deal as you can usually pick up those upgrade tubes on eBay for a much better price.

Yeah, I think that is my plan too. It should be fun to shop around a bit for tubes.

So you would recommend getting the stock tubes and then upgrading later?
Do you know the characteristics of the tubes or could describe them?
