Guys,

Whats the state of standard sized lion rechargeables? IOW, will they come to market soon?

Has anyone played with proprietary batteries for cameras and such, like this for instance:

If it possible to solder on a battery strap and use it in a portable amp with a strap - such as my Portaphile

It _could be_ similar in size to a 9v, and although the voltage is on the low side it might be adequate enough - talking about the 7.4V units.

Is this insane, irrational thinking?

EDIT: fixed link

If I remember correctly, somebody posted a similar question to this in the DIY forums. The problem with those batteries it seems is that the electronics have to be built around the battery, or have precise specs. The difficulty in using lithium ion (dangerous too) is just too much for DIY consumption it seems.

Unfortunate but true.

Thanks. Do you have a link to that thread?

My motivation here is there are lion 9v batteries out there, just no rechargeables...
