Hello Head-Fi! I've been away a while, heads down working on my designs, and I'm very happy to announce that Lithium Headphones is back with our V2 of the Lithium Tuning System, a complete redesign of our open-back Alkali, a brand-new closed-back called Isotope, and CNC-carved wood headphones!
Those of you who don't know or remember me, I am obsessed with headphones, and in roughly 2021 I decided that I needed to shift my love for them into learning how to make 'em. I got a cheap 3D printer, a free account of TinkerCAD, some off-the-shelf AliExpress drivers, and started trying to make my own. The first pair I ever made were both the ugliest and the worst-sounding headphones I've ever seen or listened to. Seriously, they were awful. But... they worked. Music came out of them, and I was hooked.
Over the next four years, I've massively improved my designs, my printing, and my ability to make headphones that both look and sound great. I learned a lot here, met other makers, and came up with what I call the Lithium Tuning System (now V2.0). This is (part of) the system:
Effectively, it breaks out sound waves for an incredibly immersive experience.
What kind of sound should I expect from a pair of Lithium Headphones?
Regardless of the model, every pair of Lithium Headphones is designed and tuned for listening the way I like listening - extremely detailed, huge soundstage, and overall neutral presentation. Bass is extremely clean, and neutral. It's present, but it's not going to knock your face off. Clarity and details are top notch - you'll hate your poorly-recorded tracks with these.
But the biggest thing about these, and what people who have heard or owned them take away, is a very unique, immersive, huge three-dimensional soundstage. I took a few pairs to CanJam NYC earlier this year, and the people who heard them kept talking about how you feel immersed in the music, like it's surrounding you.
My designs pair extremely well with classic rock, instrumental, classical, jazz, prog - any music with significant complexity and motion.
Why should I buy a pair, I've never heard of you or your brand?
A good question. Chances are, you don't know me from a can of paint. But I do back up every sale with a 2-week (from the time you receive your headphones) no-questions return policy. I pay return shipping. There's no "restock fee" or anything. Don't like them for any reason? Send 'em back. I also offer a lifetime warranty on drivers.
Who are you anyways?
My name is Dan. I love music - creating, listening to, arguing about, music is my life. I'm a one-person company based in the greater Boston area. I get a thrill when people listen to music on headphones I've made and tell me what they think (even if they don't like it). My favorite little anecdote: my dad was listening to my headphones, playing a Beatles song he's heard countless times since the late sixties. About 45 seconds in, he turns to me and yells "I NEVER KNEW THIS SONG HAD A TAMBOURINE." Nobody doesn't yell with headphones on.

Any questions, any comments, just LMK either here or at dan@lithiumheadphones.com. Oh, and please note that as I am a one-person shop (for now), it may take a week or three to get an order in your hands. Return policy starts when you get them, not when you order. Thanks!
