This list is just insane and all in 1 year to boot. So in your opinion, which of those mentioned above is your best purchase of the year (i.e. once you have it you just cannot live without it)?

2011 has been a great year. Sig includes everything but DT880s which were traded. In 2012 I'm looking forward to the release of the ODAC and WooDAC.

I'd say Esoteric K-01, SR009, Smyth Realiser and Westone ES5. But of course I can't listen to my SR009 without the SRM727II so I have to reluctantly include it - until my BHSE arrives.

As for Liquid Fire / LCD2/3, they are very close to my top gear mentioned above, but not there yet when it comes to "once you have it you just cannot live without it".

Too many headphones, a few sources, amplifiers and more music than I can handle.

The highlights:
Sony CDP-750
Beyerdynamic DT48S
AKG K400
AKG K500
Fiio E10
Sennheiser HD250 II Linear
JBL Duet II (Computer speakers usually sound lousy, especially the budget versions. The JBL sounds better than I expected.)

At the moment I am still checking out a particular headphone and I still want to try the DT1350...

Not a whole lot going on this year, but that's a good thing. Only two main standouts:

Stax SR-X Mk3 Pro, which is ridiculously awesome, and
Neko D100 Mk2, which is a rather nice DAC actually, especially with the O2/BH... nice enough to make me contemplate selling everything else.

MEElectronics M6
Ety MC5 (now broken...)
UE TF10
Some random Altec Lansing phones (returned the next day..)

Sony MDR 7506
Sony XB 500
Grado SR60i
AKG K240M

Fiio E6
CEntrance DACmini

iPod Classic 160gb
Pure i20

I only regret the XB500s and the M6s.
