decided to try linux. i tried ubuntu, then ubuntu studio and now openSUSE 11.1. sound is quite good with straight 16/44.1 but haven't tried upsampling.

what linux media player do you use ?

I have Ubuntu 8.1 and I usually just use VLC. I am not sure how robust it is, but it is just on my laptop.

Here is a newer one that is supposed to be pretty good and it says it is less cluttered than amarok.

Exaile is also a nice player which is somewhat an amarok clone for gnome/gtk. But I find that it crashes once in a while

is there any player that does 24 bit ?
