Xonar-->Linn Classik-->D5000?

I have a second hand Linn Classik music arriving with me next week, also a brand new set of Denon D5000's.

My question is, is it worth connecting from my the headphone/lineout of my Xonar D2X to the Classik, and plugging my D5000s into the headphone jack on the front of the Classik? Or would it simply be better to connect the D5000's directly from the lineout of the Xonar?

I don't know about the Classik for sure, but typically Linn pre-amps have dedicated headphone circuitry that are of good quality. My guess is that this holds true of the Classik. So my guess is that you are best off listening with the Classik as the headphone amp.

Best bet is to try it both ways and let your ears decide.

Not sure about the hp but through their speakers, this is one of the most engaging piece of audio ware I've heard; only a little lacking in low end heft.
