Hi,
I’m looking for a decent linear power supply 12V - 2.5A to power a Netgear EX7000 I’m using to bring the Ethernet from the router to my hifi cabinet.
Any ideas of a good one suitable for this purpose without spending a fortune?
Say <$500...

Edit: the amperage required is 2.5A not 5A as I initially indicated...

rs 273-1667 is perfect for this trust me. you will have to also get the right tip. no longer made. ebay. lasts forever pretty much. just ask if working. I am not kidding does not look like much but perfect for this. a $500 psu on a router is a complete waste. this has noise, ripple, offset etc similar to those $500 units anyways. I use one to power my custom made(myself) usb purifier that will blow ifi , microrendu away. so good enough for that. on 24/7 14 years so far. previously in different application.

If it will be powered on 24/7, let them know. You don't want it to fail from heat.
Good point.
I'm now looking at this inexpensive LPS in the assumption that it will inject less noise in the whole system compared to the stock Netgear PSU.

EDIT: ...and also this ONE which has the same R-Core you mentioned...

In the first post I had mistakenly indicated 12V - 5A while the extender requires only 12V - 2.5A.
Too bad the ifi i power outputs only 1.8A otherwise it would have been the perfect solution!
