Dont know if I should ask this hear or not. But here goes.

Is there a wayto boostthe output signal of the line out of a pcdp??

Both of the portables I have heard lack punch and dynamics. I assume that it is ecause the output signal (voltage??) is much less than a home cdp.
If this is so, would boosting that output, before reaching a preamp, remedy this lack of dynamics some what? And if so, how can it be Done??

The only amp I have is a Pioneer integrated.

I am just asking in general cuz it is something I noticed. I used my Panasonic pcdp for a while as a source in my speaker system and when I got the changer, there was a big difference in output and dynamics between the two. I was just wondering if there was a way to make a pcdp's output math that of a home player.

The short answer is no. The output components in some pcdps can be very good. However, the transport usually isn't as stable as a stand alone unit. nor is there space for the same caliber of electronics. A decent stand-alone cdp should almost always sound better than a portable.

Well then,

I guess I would have to live with it then.
