I currently have an ALO International+ amp, and I sometimes want to hook it up to a receiver or speaker amp. Since the International+ has no lineout jack, I need to use the headphone-out jack, which is obviously amplified and volume controlled. I'd like to know what the optimal gain/volume setting is if I wanted to hook this amp to another amp. I'm assuming gain should be 0db (M), but what volume should I set it at to emulate a lineout jack?
 
Also, I have similar questions about my notebook (Macbook Pro): At what volume should I set my notebook to in order to emulate a lineout?

Lowest possible gain (1X if possible) and max volume. Also max volume on your computer.

I am now using the ipod nano 16G headphone out to RSA amp. Should I also set the ipod sound volume to MAX to reach the optimum setting. Thanks for advice.
